Why I Don’t Send Every Single Photo (And Why That’s a Good Thing)

Backed by Professional Baton Rouge Photographer Insight

As a professional photographer in Baton Rouge, one of the most common questions I get is:

“Do I get every photo you took during our session?”

It’s a valid question—especially in the digital age. But the truth is, I don’t deliver every single image I capture during your portrait session, and here’s why that’s actually a really good thing.

1. Quality Over Quantity

During your family photo session, couples session, or branding shoot, I take hundreds of images. Many of these are rapid bursts to capture the perfect expression, light test shots, or unintentional blinks. My job is to deliver only the best professional photos—the ones that are meaningful, technically sound, and emotionally resonant.

By sending a carefully curated gallery, I’m giving you the very best version of your memories, not just every version.

2. Telling a Thoughtful Visual Story

I believe great Baton Rouge photography is more than just clicking the shutter. It’s about creating a story you’ll feel connected to. Delivering fewer, stronger images keeps your gallery cohesive, beautiful, and easy to enjoy—something that matters whether it’s a senior session, headshot, or elopement shoot.

3. Every Delivered Image Is Professionally Edited

Every photo you receive has been hand-edited with care. I enhance lighting, color, and tones, making sure each image reflects your personality and my signature natural light photography style. This kind of detailed post-processing takes time and intention—which is why I don’t deliver every single frame.

4. Less Clutter, More Impact

Too many photos can feel overwhelming, especially when they’re nearly identical. I want you to open your gallery and immediately feel a connection to each image. Whether you’re choosing what to print, post, or frame, it should feel effortless and joyful—not like sorting through a hard drive dump.

5. You’ll Never Miss a Moment

You can trust that if it's heartfelt, flattering, or beautifully lit—it makes the cut. I promise to include every meaningful moment from your session, whether it’s a quiet in-between smile or a spontaneous burst of laughter.

So, How Many Photos Will I Get?

Most of my portrait photography packages include a set number of edited images, with the option to purchase additional favorites. That gives you flexibility while still ensuring a polished, professional experience. (And yes, I do offer full gallery upgrades if you just can’t choose.)

Final Thoughts from Your Baton Rouge Photographer

I limit the number of images I deliver not to hold back—but to honor your story, your time, and your investment. I’m here to give you emotive, timeless photography that reflects who you are—not just a camera roll’s worth of clicks.

Have questions? Curious how I choose the best images from your shoot? Reach out anytime. I'm happy to walk you through the process.

Warmly,

Nicole
